WWN Statement on the Murder of Dr. George Tiller

The Wisconsin Women’s Network joins with women and men across the country to express outrage and deep sadness over the murder of Dr. George Tiller Sunday in Wichita, Kansas. Our thoughts and prayers are extended to his family, staff and patients. He provided high quality, critical reproductive health services, including abortion, to women, and for that he was targeted over the years with violence to his person and clinic perpetrated by anti-choice fanatics. He literally put his life on the line to assure women had access to a legal medical procedure at a difficult time in their lives. Dr. Tiller would want all those who believe in reproductive choice and quality health care for women to have the courage, as he did, to re-double our efforts to protect this right.
