Wisconsin Women 2009 Stateswoman of the Year Event

August 5, 2009

The Wisconsin Women’s Network hosted its 30th Anniversary and Stateswomen of the Year event on October 18 at Monona Terrace, Grand Terrace East in Madison.

Members of the Wisconsin Women’s Network and others interested in celebrating women and supporting women’s issues met previous SWOTY awardees and learned about the contributions these dedicated and determined women, past and present, have made to advance the status of women in Wisconsin.

Representative Kelda Helen Roys, 81st Assembly District, introduced our speaker, Genevieve G. McBride, Ph.D., an associate professor of history and a past director of women’s studies at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Thanks to our sponsors and silent auction partners for supporting the Wisconsin Women 2009 SWOTY event.

The Stateswoman of the Year Celebration is the major fundraiser for the Wisconsin Women’s Network, a coalition of organizations and individuals that advances the status of women and girls in Wisconsin through communications, education, and advocacy.
