Wisconsin Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs Change Name to Wisconsin Women’s Alliance

February 26, 2010

(FOND DU LAC, WIS)….The Wisconsin Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc has voted to change its name to Wisconsin Women’s Alliance. The change was enacted at a special convention held February 20 in Fond du Lac. Wisconsin BPW has been an active women’s organization in Wisconsin for 88 years.

“Changing our name reflects the change in mission and scope of the organization,” says Federation President Keeley Crowley. “The name change also coincides with changes on the national level within the BPW organization.”

The Wisconsin Women’s Alliance will retain many of the core values of the BPW Federation, including the historical mission of women helping women; with a renewed emphasis on mentoring and professional networking. The Alliance welcomes all women, without restriction, in a collaborative spirit banding together to support and advocate for each other and women at large.

“In order to remain an effective organization for today’s working women we felt it was necessary to reevaluate the membership benefits we offered,” Crowley says. “The Alliance will strive to develop the potential of all women through advocacy, mentoring, skill building and education.”

There are 16 chapters of the Wisconsin Women’s Alliance in Wisconsin. To locate a group in your area contact the Alliance Business Manager Sue Tomko (414) 607-6558 or email at sue0430@wi.rr.com.
