Be a Part of the Wisconsin Women’s Network Equality Day Celebration

August 25, 2011

For almost a century, American women have had the right to vote – but now more than ever we must continue to advocate for the right to be heard on the issues that affect our families, our lives and our future.

Please plan to join the Wisconsin Women’s Network for a Women’s Equality Day Celebration, Thursday, August 25, 2011. We’ll celebrate the 91st year since the passage of the 19th amendment, recognize the promise of full equality for all, and renew our commitment to working together to make women’s lives better.

This is WWN’s only fundraising event this year and we depend on our generous sponsors to make it a success. We hope you will consider sponsoring this great event at the $500, $250, $100, or $50 level.  To donate online, please click here.

The celebration features special guest Judy Patrick, CEO of the Women’s Foundation of California. Judy is a visionary leader whose organization invests in promising women leaders, helps shape legislation and fuel social change through organizational strengthening, public policy training and grantmaking. She will be introduced by State Senator Lena Taylor. Other program highlights include a performance by TAPIT/new works Ensemble Theater and a silent auction featuring fantastic items donated by area businesses and community members.

The event will take place from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Boardman Law Firm Atrium, Fourth Floor, 1 South Pinckney Street in Madison.

Your contribution supports the work of the WWN, a non-partisan coalition of organizations and individuals that advances the status of women and girls in Wisconsin through communication, education, and advocacy. Please visit our Equality Day Sponsorship Page to become a sponsor of this great event. For more information, contact Emily Winecke at ewinecke@wiwomensnetwork.org or call (608) 255-9809.

Stay tuned for further details as the date approaches and please feel free to circulate our Equality Day announcement.  Thanks for your past support and mark your calendar for our Equality Day Celebration, Thursday, August 25.
