artful women

Artful Women celebrates 37 years of providing a venue for talented women artists to exhibit their work. The juried art show and sale coordinated by fantastic volunteers benefits the Wisconsin Women’s Network. This year's Artful Women show runs from November 4 through December 2, 2023 in the Skylight Lounge Gallery (Surgical Waiting Room) at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave., Madison. This year, upon show opening, you will be able to go into the hospital to view the show in person! We will also post a virtual gallery slideshow to our website and social media. Further details on an in-person reception coming soon.

Artful Women applications are due October 12, 2023. Artful Women applications are open to cisgender and transgender women, non-binary and genderqueer people. Women’s Equality Day

A century after gaining the right to vote, women continue to experience voter inequalities due to disenfranchisement, barriers to access the polls, and restrictive voter ID laws. The Wisconsin Women’s Network recognizes Women’s Equality Day, in order to bring awareness to the inequalities (at the polls and beyond) that so many women experience because of their gender, race, ethnicity, age, religion, sexuality, ability, identity, and socioeconomic status.

Our Women's Equality Day event serves as a fundraiser to sustain the Wisconsin Women’s Network and our work to advance the status of women and girls in Wisconsin. This year, the event took place on August 24 at Old Sugar Distillery in Madison, and we celebrated our 2023 theme: Local Impact. The evening was filled with inspiration and togetherness. We hope you will join us at next year’s celebration to hear from inspiring women from across our great state! Join our email list for future Women’s Equality Day announcements.

These events are a great chance for social and gender justice advocates and other community members to network, develop ideas for collaboration, and discuss local efforts to advance the status of women and girls in Wisconsin. artful women

In 2022, Artful Women celebrated 36 years of providing a venue for talented women artists to exhibit their work. The juried art show and sale coordinated by fantastic volunteers benefit the Wisconsin Women’s Network. This 2022 Artful Women Show ran from October 29 through December 3 in the Skylight Gallery (Surgical Waiting Room) at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave., Madison. Because the viewing of the show was limited to patients and staff, we posted a virtual gallery slideshow with the beautiful pieces to our Facebook page and website below.

THE BIG SHARE

Each March, WWN participates in The Big Share - an online day of giving hosted by the Community Shares of Wisconsin where generous community members come together to invest in causes that are important to them.

The Big Share is one of our most important fundraising efforts of the year. For the 2023 event, our generous donors helped raise $8,000 for Wisconsin Women’s Network in just one day! $8,000 that will go toward training, mentoring, and connecting women throughout the state.

Join our email list for future The Big Share announcements and updates on how to get involved with this impactful annual event.
