Reports To: Wisconsin Women’s Network (WWN) Board of Directors & Policy Institute Lead Instructor

Pay Grade: Stipend ($2,500 for term of project)

The Wisconsin Women’s Network is hiring a project coordinator (limited term contract position) to assist with the planning and implementation of the 2017-18 Policy Institute.

The individual must be a self-starter. The WWN is led and run by a volunteer board of directors and the office is not staffed during traditional office hours. The project coordinator must be able to work remotely and must be someone who is motivated by expectations and goals as there is little day-to-day oversight. Hours of work required will vary greatly but could be as little a two-five hours per week during non-retreat weeks and as many as 30 hours on retreat weeks. While work does not need to be done during the traditional 9am-5pm workday, the project coordinator must be able to respond to emails in a timely fashion.



  • Attend all retreats and serve as onsite logistics point-person on retreat days.

  • Coordinate with WWN board members, policy institute lead instructor, and policy institute planning committee members.

  • Manage the application process and schedule interviews.

  • Manage venue and hotel reservations.

  • Coordinate retreat meals, beverages, and snacks.

  • Print and distribute participant materials.

  • Take photos and post on WWN social media.

  • Create, collect, and enter participant evaluations, success, and stories.

  • Send invoices to sponsors and coordinate payments.


Attendance at all four retreats is required. Policy Institute Retreats will be held all day on the following days:

  • Friday, November 3rd (8am-8pm) - Saturday, November 4th (8am-4pm)

  • Friday, December 8th (8am-8pm) - Saturday, December 9th (8am-4pm)

  • Friday, January 12th (8am-8pm) - Saturday, January 13th (8am-4pm)

  • Friday, February 9th (8am-8pm) - Saturday, February 10th (8am-5pm)


Qualifications Required:

  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively.

  • Previous event planning experience.

  • Computer literacy, including working experience with Microsoft Office and Google platforms.

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt schedule to attend meetings as required. Must be able to work some evening and weekends.

  • Willingness to enthusiastically represent the Wisconsin Women’s Network and its mission and program agendas.



  • Experience with non-profit organizations, board of directors, and volunteers.
