Wisconsin Women's Network Presents: Accelerated Policy Institute

To meet the demand of Wisconsin women interested in expanding their policy advocacy skills, the Wisconsin Women’s Network is launching a new Accelerated Policy Institute in 2018.

The Accelerated Policy Institute is designed for women of all experience levels and aims to grow the number of women who have the confidence, skills, and strategic know-how to successfully engage in their local and statewide communities on policy issues that matter to Wisconsin women and girls.

The Accelerated Policy Institute will provide hands-on intersectional advocacy and leadership, communications, and policy advocacy training in a condensed two-day format. The Accelerated Policy Institute is  open to any woman who signs up and does not involve an application or selection process. Registration is open to the first 75 women to enroll for the registration fee of $250. The Accelerated Policy Institute does not replace WWN’s Policy Institute, which will remain a selective program consisting of four intensive training retreats over a four month period. The next full length Policy Institute will be announced in July 2018.

Women from all sectors, including those affiliated with nonprofit organizations, academia, philanthropy, labor unions, and government are encouraged to sign up. The Accelerated Policy Institute is also great for college and graduate students, retirees, and women interested in infusing their volunteer activities with effective advocacy skills. The Accelerated Policy Institute will be led by Vicky Selkowe, a public interest attorney and lobbyist who has more than 20 years of Wisconsin-based advocacy experience.
