WWN Program/Project Overview & Volunteer Time Commitment Estimates/Expectations
Advancement Committee: Plays an integral role in supporting and participating in the fundraising efforts for WWN.
- Grant Writing (5 hrs/mo): Support grant proposal development and submission by preparing and writing grant narratives, additional materials, and reports.
- Prospect Research (1 hr/wk): Conduct prospect research for grants, foudation, and corporate sponsorship opportunities and determine eligibility.
- Annual Fund Support (1 hr/wk, Fall & Spring): Participate in annual fund appeal strategy and development, copywriting, and social media.
- Fundraising Event Support (1 hr/wk, March & August): Support virtual and in-person fundraising events through social media and email outreach and general event
coordination.
Mentorship Program Committee: Participates in planning and running Mentorship Program events, including recruitment, orientation, and networking opportunities.
- Goal: Meet at most once/month in January, February, April, July, August, September, October, November, December (9 mos). Additional meetings may be scheduled
as needed.
- Attend orientation meetings in January (3 hrs total).
- Attend in-person events in January, April, September, November, and a networking event in the summer (~1.5 hrs/event).
- Committee members should expect 1-2 hrs of work outside of meetings/month as well.
- If a committee member is a no-show (with no communication) for two consecutive meetings, the committee will consider that they are no longer on the committee.
Policy Committee: Helps plan, organize, and execute the annual Policy Institute and the Accelerated Policy Institutes.
- Pre Policy Institute: ~ 5 hrs total (1 hr/mo, August-December)
- Attend committee meetings (at least 1/mo, but possibly more if needed).
- During Policy Institute: ~ 12 hrs total (3 hrs/mo, January-April)
- Attend 4 pre-retreat planning meetings .
- Attend each retreat, as needed and when possible: 2 days (Friday & Saturday) in January, February, March, & April.
- Attend 4 retreat debrief meetings (after each retreat).
- Post Policy Institute: ~ 3 hrs total (1 hr/mo, May-July)
- Attend committee meetings (held as needed)

Special Events Committee has 3 main efforts throughout the year: Feminism on Tap, Women's Equality Day, & Artful Women.
- Feminism on Tap (2 hrs/mo during months when we host an event, 4-6 events/yr): Identify a location, confirm availability, create social media posts/events.
*You're encouraged, but not required, to attend the events too!
- Women's Equality Day (1-3 hrs/wk in June, July & August): Participate in event planning, which includes event logistics, program planning, raffle item solicitation,
and "day of" event details.
- Artful Women Art Show & Sale (~ 1 hr/week, October & November): Help with show promotion, art intake/pick-up, gallery preparation, and reception (tasks vary
depending on whether show is in person or virtual).
